2018 PSAC Industry Insights Luncheon (12:00 noon to 1:45 pm) :

Allan Fogwill
Internal Disruption within Canada’s Oil and Gas Industry
Much of the discussion about disruption to oil and gas is focused on external disruption, but trends and advances within Canada’s oil and gas industry is a major influencer on the rate of change. Allan will provide comments highlighting some of the key internal changes that have occurred within Oilfield Services and provide some thoughts as to how oilfield services can evolve to continue to be successful in the future.

Jason Switzer
Opportunities for Oil and Gas Services in the Transition
Jason will deliver a presentation focused on the drivers of energy transition, and share examples of how oil and gas service companies and innovators are finding new opportunities for economic growth by leveraging their hard-won expertise, by embracing new technology, and by rethinking the very nature of their business.

David Layzell
Transformation while keeping Alberta in the Transportation Fuel Business
With over 70% of crude oil ending up as transportation fuels, Alberta is clearly in the transportation business and this business is on the cusp of major transformative and disruptive changes. What, when and how innovations are deployed to transform transportation are likely to have major impacts on Alberta’s oil, electricity and natural gas sectors. It is time for Alberta to consider the nature and implications of these forces and identify strategies that will keep the province as a major player in the (clean) transportation business of the future while continuing to produce oil and gas.
